So you're about to buy a house and you are completely confused about how the school systems work. Don't worry... I can help explain it! 

In the Richmond area, particularly in the suburban environment, you need to be mindful of how the school system supports where you're purchasing and what effect that may have on the value of your house. Now when you get into the counties -- Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Powhatan, etc., -- sometimes there is a marked difference depending on where the house is located because of the schools that serve that area. If you're coming into the area blind, it helps to have somebody who understands those systems and can explain to you the pluses and minuses
